Mint, Créme, whatever.
“Safer than smoking” doesn’t make it safe. So, for things like torching—or JUULing—we don’t know the impact these products could have on our health. Good research takes decades to compile and these HOT NEW TRENDS haven’t exactly been around long enough (or at all, in the case of torching. And please not ever for torching.) to get good, solid research.
Adults Only
We’re not convinced products like JUUL are only being used by smokers. And by “we’re not convinced” we mean we are positive they’re not only being used by smokers.
People who have never smoked a cigarette in their life are using JUUL and JUUL-like devices. Even JUUL’s early ads reminded us of old school Big Tobacco ads—happy, bright, colorful images of Young People using their products. Which is not great, considering Juul and other e-cigs contain nicotine, which is incredibly addictive. One JUUL pod contains the same amount of nicotine as 20 cigarettes, according to JUUL’s own website. Not only is nicotine highly addictive, it can have a lasting impact on the development of the brain. *And* early research shows vaping can make someone 4x more likely to start smoking cigarettes.
Safety first
Vaping might be safer than smoking, but that doesn’t make it safe. If you’re already a smoker, vaping might be a SAFER switch, but if you don’t smoke WHY WOULD YOU PICK UP AN ADDICTION?
